I am a film and performance artist working through the name Eira Clare. My work rebels against the notion of nostalgia as personal experience by capturing fragmented events of placement and displacement within on screen cultures. Eira Clare represents the ambiguity of the world we live in today, trapped between the present and past. Through screen appearances and film productions, labelled as events, they become free. Rejecting conventional plotlines Eira creates a contemporary reflection of 60’s and 70’s cinematic styling allowing for an exploration of that which is lost in translation. The camera is a Narcissist, and we are enslaved to the illuminated screen.
